Ensuring the reliability of 20 kV distribution systems is essential to maintain continuous service. Reclosers are widely deployed to isolate temporary faults and expedite restoration, but their benefit depends on siting decisions. This study evaluates recloser relocation and staged addition on the Calang feeders (CL05 and CL07) using the Section Technique and ETAP 21.0.1. Feeder level SAIDI and SAIFI are compared against SPLN 59:1985. Both feeders initially exceed the limits, particularly CL07 (SAIFI 26.95 faults/customer·yr; SAIDI 81.09 h/customer·yr). Simulation shows that adding reclosers outperforms relocation. On CL05, adding one recloser at Section 2 achieves SAIFI 3.2357 and SAIDI 9.9409, meeting PLN thresholds; on CL07, adding five reclosers yields SAIFI 9.7529 and SAIDI 29.7909, approaching the limits. The results indicate that targeted recloser addition provides the greatest reliability gains for feeders with similar characteristics. ©2025 IEEE.
