The focus of this research is to increase the efficiency of the use of gas fuel in the essential oil refining process. One of the problems in the distillation system is the cost of fuel, including gas refineries. The increase in gas fuel efficiency is carried out by adding a microcontroller-based control system and monitoring in real time using IoT (internet of things) technology. The two main parameters in essential oil refining are temperature and pressure. The control system with IoT in real time monitors the temperature and pressure during the refining process and can be monitored via an Android phone. Control can also be done via an android phone, namely to activate the water pump and disable the control system. Setting the temperature and pressure parameters is done using the keypad input on the control system. Determination of the optimal operating time of the distillation is obtained from simulations using fuzzy logic. Based on the optimal time of each type of raw material, namely nutmeg, patchouli and lemongrass, the efficiency of gas fuel consumption was obtained. For the nutmeg oil distillation process, gas fuel efficiency is 21.15 %, patchouli oil distillation is 20.59 % and citronella oil distillation is 22.22 %. The yield of essential oils produced, for nutmeg oil was 5.5 %, patchouli oil was 1.3 % and citronella oil was 1.1 %. © 2025 IEEE.
