This research aims to examine and analyze the influence of leadership behavior and work environment on employee performance at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in South Aceh Regency. Additionally, it investigates the role of rewards as a moderator in the relationships between these variables. Data was collected from 104 employees using a total sampling approach and analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The findings reveal that both leadership behavior and work environment significantly affect employee performance at BPS South Aceh. However, rewards do not moderate the relationship between leadership behavior and employee performance. Conversely, rewards do moderate the relationship between the work environment and employee performance. These results suggest that leadership plays a crucial role in creating a conducive work environment and that a well-designed reward system is essential for motivating employees to enhance their performance. © 2026 selection and editorial matter, Dipak Saha, Soumya Mukherjee, Chirabrata Majumder, Ayman Ibrahim, and Banji R.
