Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is a metabolic disorder that is currently highly prevalent in the world. The increasing prevalence of T2DM and its impact on patients’ quality of life highlights the urgency of research to identify factors that affect their quality of life. These factors can be analyzed using the Fuzyy-Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method. The main reason underlying the use of the FAHP method is that it can be used to develop a deeper understanding of how to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity in various contexts. The application of the FAHP method in this study is implemented using secondary data to provide recommendations for improving quality of life by knowing the factors that most affect quality of life. The research data consisted of 4 variables, such as quality of life, physical activity, medication adherence and acceptance of the disease with a total of 105 patient respondents. The results from the FAHP method show that physical activity is the treatment that has the most influence on the quality of life of T2D patients with a weight of 0.508. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
