Abstract

Transmission constrained Optimal Power Flow is one of several methods to minimize fuel costs while maintaining system reliability constraints. In this study, Genetic Algorithm was applied to solve the problem of OPF. Active power generator, generator bus voltages, transformer tap and injection capacitor used as control variables. Simulation on the Java-Bali 500 kV power system based on proposed method can reduce the cost 13,4% compared with the existing operation of PT.
