This study aimed to assess intraspecific morphological variation in Eleutheronema tetradactylum (Shaw, 1804) using a truss network system. A total of 120 specimens were collected from four coastal fishing grounds in Thailand using multifilament gill net during January 2021 to January 2022. Morphometric data were standardized and examined using univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) and canonical discriminant function analysis (CDFA). ANOVA results indicated significant differences (P < 0.05) across all measured characters, except for IGO-VBM and PT-DFO1 (P > 0.05). CDFA revealed that five morphometric variables (PM-PT, IGO-PT, PAFB-PDFB2, VBM-DFO1, and PDFB2-VOCF) contributed most to phenotypic differentiation in the first discriminant function, which accounted for 85.45% of the total variance. Classification accuracy based on the confusion matrix showed that 81.70% of individuals were correctly assigned to their original populations. The findings suggest the presence of two distinct morphological stocks of E. tetradactylum in Thai coastal waters, potentially linked to their geographical and reproductive strategy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
