This research aims to determine the toxicity of A. muricata leaf water extract using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method and to determine the total phenolic content and total flavonoid content by varying the soaking time of 1, 3, 5, and 7 minutes and the drying variations of A. muricata leaf samples, which are wet, air-dried, sun-dried, and oven-dried. Each A. muricata leaf that has been smoothed with 4 drying methods and 4 variations of time macerated with hot water at T 100 0C thus obtaining tea leaf water extract. Each extract was tested for toxicity using 48-hour-old Artemia salina Leach shrimp larvae. Toxic effects of the extract were identified with the percentage of shrimp larva mortality using probit analysis (LC50). The results of the toxicity test of tea leaf extract showed the highest activity value was the sun-dried sample with a 7-minute immersion (6.60 µg/ml) > wind-dried sample with a 1-minute immersion (10.47 µg/ml) and > wet sample with a 5-minute immersion (14.45 µg/ml). The highest total phenolic content was found in the wet sample soaked for 7 minutes containing (214 mg GAE/g) > air-dried sample soaked for 3 minutes (210.6 mg GAE/g) and > sun-dried sample soaked for 1 minute (114 mg GAE/g), while the highest flavonoid content was found in the wet sample soaked for 7 minutes containing (31.7 mg QE/g) > air-dried sample soaked for 3 minutes (23 mg QE/g) and > sun-dried sample soaked for 7 minutes (6.1 mg QE/g). © 2026 Author(s)
