The bright coloration of ornamental fish, such as Molly fish (Poecilia sphenops), is a key factor in enhancing their aesthetic and market value. This study investigated the effect of incorporating beetroot (Beta vulgaris) flour, a natural pigment source rich in betalains, into commercial feed on the color brightness of Molly fish. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications was applied, consisting of P1 (control), P2 (125 g beetroot flour/500 g feed), P3 (175 g beetroot flour/500 g feed), and P4 (225 g beetroot flour/500 g feed). Results showed that beetroot flour supplementation significantly affected (P<0.05) fish coloration and SR. The optimal response was obtained in P3 (175 g/500 g feed), producing the highest color brightness (12.35 ± 1.0), ALG (0.20 ± 0.33 cm), AWG (0.08 ± 0.28 g), and SR (72 ± 10.95 %). These findings suggest that beetroot flour at 175 g/500 g feed is the most effective dosage for enhancing coloration in Molly fish while maintaining good survival. This research activity supports the achievement of SDG 14: Life Below Water, which emphasizes the importance of protecting aquatic ecosystems through sustainable fish resource management and environmentally friendly aquaculture technologies. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
